COMPANY HISTORY

Gibson optics was started 20 years ago to develop and sell optical design software which was called OSDP. That part of the business (while reasonably successful) was terminated about 10 years ago due to the need to switch completely over to the Windows environment. Also, at that time another possibility opened up and personal issues developed as well. The new plan was never realized, but the dream of making high performance lenses has always been in the plan.

Currently two very high performance 1X lenses are the first of a series of lenses, (see Products page) and the desired performance has been met. One lens can be used for relaying an image from one point to another with very little degradation and for machine vision.  The second lens come with a built in vertical illuminator for those applications that require it.
